Thai Air Force F-16 fighters launched bomb strikes on Cambodian forward troop positions today, in retaliation for the Cambodian bombardment of Thai civilian targets along the shared border.Thai military sources say that six F-16s were deployed this morning to conduct bomb strikes on the field commands of the 8th and 9th brigades of the Cambodian forces responsible for the rocket and artillery attacks on Thai villagers in Surin, Si Sa Ket and other border provinces.The sources say that all the F16s returned safely to their base after the mission.Thai troops also destroyed a Cambodian cable car at Phu Makhua mountain in Si Sa Ket province.Meanwhile, an updated report from Si Sa Ket says three civilians were killed and 14 others injured when a Cambodian artillery shell hit a convenience store at a PTT petrol station in Kantharalak district this morning.The petrol station is located about 20km from the border. Clashes between Thai and Cambodian forces are reported to be continuing along the border.
